"Am I Right?" is a synth pop ballad written by Erasure members Vince Clarke and Andy Bell. Lyrically the song examines the feelings of a protagonist who is wandering through the city streets after a romantic separation, while his lover contemplates whether or not (s)he is really in love and wants to return to the relationship.
Upon its release "Am I Right?" became the fifteenth consecutive Top 20 song on the UK singles chart for Erasure, peaking at number fifteen. Shortly after the release as a single, the "Am I Right EP" was released, which featured new songs and alternate versions of Erasure singles and album tracks. The "Am I Right EP" peaked at #22 in the UK.
