He developed the concept and story for the 2008 Paramount Pictures film, Stop-Loss, and was the cinematographer for the soldier-video sequences in the film.
He has often worked with film director Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Stop-Loss) as a producer and documentary co-director.
Reid serves on the board of the Red Feather Development Group, a non-profit organization that builds straw-bale homes on American Indian reservations. He directed the short film Building One House, which is narrated by Robert Redford and scored by the rock band, Pearl Jam.
Reid graduated from Harvard College and attended the graduate film directing program at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
