Rarely Asked Questions

Rarely Asked Questions (RAQ) is a monthly essay on a topic in analog electronics published by Analog Devices Inc.

The essays are published monthly in EDN and Design News and are also available on-line at Analog Devices' website.

They are about 400 words in length, are illustrated by a cartoon, and use a humorous example, frequently fictional or historical, to clarify a serious technical issue. Recent examples include William Tell in an essay on accuracy, Paul Revere in one on signaling, and Victor Frankenstein as an awful warning about the dangers of high voltage transients.

Accompanying the essay are the URLs of more detailed technical articles relating to the topic under discussion. They are written by James Bryant & John Ardizzoni
