Railroadin' is a 1929 Our Gang short comedy film directed by Robert F. McGowan. It was the 90th Our Gang short that was released.
Plot
The gang is all playing around the railroad station. Some were playing in an empty train that was standing still. At that time Joe's father then sat the gang down and lectured them against playing inside railroad cars. They then imagine what would happen (sort of a dream sequence). Then they imagine Joe and Chubby are playing in a railraod car and a crazy man comes in and turns on the engine. The train then moves at full speed. Farina, meanwhile is stuck on the track and the train runs over him several times (he is unhurt). Farina simply lies down every time the train runs over him. After colliding with a grocery truck, nearly colliding with an oncoming train the train finally stops and the boys were rescued. Then the dream sequence ends and Joe's father wraps up the lecture.
The sound discs of this film were presumably lost in the early 1940's and the film negative only survived. As a result Railraodin' was never shown on television and not available on 16 MM film. Then in 1980, the sound discs were found in an MGM vault. The film then became available on VHS Home Video in 1983 and on DVD in 1995. EVen though the episode is now fully intact it never was added to the syndicated Little Rascals television package. This was Norman "Chubby" Chaney's first Our gang episode.
