Radio West Middlesex has been serving the West Middlesex University Hospital since 1967. It began broadcasting 24 hours a day in 2003. In May 2007, the station began celebrating its 40th Anniversary and between November 22nd and 26th it broadcast to the local area on 87.7FM.
The station was the winner of the Station of the Year Bronze award at the Hospital Broadcasting Awards in 2007 and was commended at 2008 Hospital Broadcasting Awards in the same category.
Patients can request music via the free phone facility attached to their bedside entertainment system and relatives and friends of patients can dedicate requests via the station website.
