Queensland Media Awards
The Queensland Media Awards started in 1995 and are a union based award for journalists in the state of Queensland, Australia.
Entry to the annual awards is open to all journalists in print, radio, television and online although the entry fee (A$220 in 2005) is waived for all members of the Media, Arts and Entertainment Alliance, the union representing Australian journalists.
The state based awards are usually announced in the Australian spring, ahead of the annual Walkley Awards
