Population growth rate

List of countries by population growth rate

This is a list of countries, and self-governing dependent territories by population growth rate, with estimates taken from the 2006 edition of the United Nations World Population Prospects report. Figures are population growth rate estimates for the period 2005-2010 using the medium variant. A population's approximate doubling time is found by dividing 70 by its annual percentage population growth. For example, at a 4 percent growth rate, a country's population will double in about 18 years; at a 1 percent growth rate, it will take about 70 years. The average population growth rate for the world is 1.17%.
