PlayRadioPlay! is a electronic/pop band from Aledo, Texas started by Daniel Hunter in December 2005. He began creating music in his garage, but it was not until he discovered Fruity Loops in Music Theory class at Aledo High School that he began to create electronic based music. After rapidly gaining popularity on MySpace, Hunter signed with Island/Stolen Transmission midway through his senior year of high school.

Hunter makes his music with Propellerheads Reason, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and various other electric and acoustic instruments to create an upbeat, dancy, and lyrically simple style of music. He writes, performs, and records all of his own music. The sound can be compared to The Postal Service, Hellogoodbye, Electric President, and other electronic acts. PlayRadioPlay! released an E.P. entitled The Frequency on April 27, 2007, which debuted at #6 on the Billboard Electronic chart and #27 on the Heatseekers chart. A full-length album entitled Texas was released Tuesday, March 18, 2008 debuting at #157 on the Billboard 200. In support of the album, PlayRadioPlay! toured nationally with American Rock Bands Secondhand Serenade and Making April. On June 27, 2008, he posted a blog on his MySpace saying that he is no longer signed with Island Records

Themes frequently appearing in the music of PlayRadioPlay! include Hunter's relationship with ex-girlfriend Madison, adjusting to life as a signed artist, and his former drug habit and rehabilitation.

PlayRadioPlay! released at least 27 songs before being signed as well as several tracks, both new and remixed, after being signed to Island/Def Jam. Some songs have specific release dates, while it is unclear when others went up on his MySpace/PureVolume. Hunter, in an interview with, stated that "Let It Shine" is the first song where he used electronic effects, but "Jello" is the first PlayRadioPlay! song. He also mentions that he made acoustic tracks before going into electronica.

Dan states on his MySpace that he makes music due to boredom, and electronic music due to "nerdiness." His songs contain lyrics about many difficult, emotional topics (such as drug use and the death of his father), but he does it in a way that doesn't evoke a great deal of sadness. He frequently puts up songs on his MySpace, and often responds to fans' responses to those songs.

On Mother's Day 2008, Dan posted a new demo titled "1989" for a Mother's Day gift to his mother.

His second single off of The Frequency E.P., "Compliment Each Other Like Colors", is featured on the soundtrack of NHL '08.
