For 2008 the team wanted to become a professional continental team. In preparation it signed Steffan Wesemann and Bas Giling. The team also had an agreement with Marc Lotz but the owner of Pedaltech signed two British professionals instead. The UCI did not grant the team the professional continental licence.
Potential sponsors pulled out, including Museeuw, the bike maker. and Cyclingnews.com. Then the team manager, who was also its owner, discovered he had cancer and could not run the team after which the team collapsed.
