Lang, Pearl, 1922-, American dancer and choreographer, b. Chicago. Lang was a soloist with Martha Graham's company (1942-52) before forming her own company in 1952. As a dancer and choreographer she was noted for her range of dramatic expression in such works as Rites (1953) and Falls the Shadow Between (1957). Lang appeared in Broadway musicals, including Carousel and Finian's Rainbow. She taught at the Yale Univ. School of Drama and the Juilliard School of Music.

Pearl Lang (born 1922) is a modern dance teacher and choreographer who worked with dance legend Martha Graham. Among Lang's many students during her lengthy teaching career was singer Madonna. Madonna was also a member of Pearl Lang's dance company.

Pearl Lang is still teaching modern dance classes at Martha Graham Contemporary Dance Academy on 63rd Street in Manhattan.
