Patay, village (1990 pop. 1,953), Loiret dept., N central France. At Patay, in 1429, Joan of Arc defeated the English—one of the most serious English defeats in the Hundred Years War.
Patay is a village and a commune of the Loiret département, in north central France, northwest of Orléans. Population: approx. 1,500.

It was the site of the Battle of Patay on June 18, 1429.
