Parlee Beach

Parlee Beach is a beach and provincial park on the east coast of New Brunswick, Canada, located on the Northumberland Strait at Shediac, near Moncton. Known for having the warmest salt water north of Virginia, it is one of NB's most popular recreational areas, having attracted as many as 25,000 visitors on particularly hot days. It has an annual visitation of over 1,000,000, although this is almost entirely in the summer months, when Shediac's tourist season is most active and the area's 2,000-plus cottages are occupied.

It was named in 1959 after T. Babbitt Parlee, the former New Brunswick Provincial Minister of Municipal Affairs, who had died in a 1956 plane crash.

In 1989, The Beach Boys played a very successful concert at Parlee Beach.

Parlee beach was man-made by a massive effort of the provincial government n 1916. This investment has paid off for the local community in the many years of tourists coming for the beach and spending their money locally.
