Padmarao Nagar

Padma Rao Nagar, sometimes also called PR Nagar, is a locality in Secunderabad, India, named after Diwan Bahadur Padma Rao Mudaliar. It was previously known as Walker Town during the British raj.

Padma Rao Nagar is bordered by Musheerabad, Bhoiguda, Chilkalguda and Sitaphalmandi areas of Secunderabad in the southern indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

The major landmarks in this area are the Sai Baba temple, Sardar Patel College, Conjeevaram House, the government's Gandhi Hospital as well as the Swarajya Press, which has now been converted into an auditorium for ceremonies. The famous Skandagiri temple, with Lord Murugan as the presiding deity, is not far.

Commercial area

Padma Rao Nagar provides the urban dweller with all the necessities including markets, shopping complexes, major banks, public parks, hospitals, places of worship, schools and colleges.

And also the Youngest Producer who released ENNO ASHALATHO is resides in this area only.

Transport

Padma Rao Nagar is just a five minute walk from the Bhoiguda exit of the Secunderabad Railway Station. The major intracity buses to ply through this area are numbers: 1P (Rathifile to Afzalgunj), 2P (Rathifile to Bhaghlingampally), 10P (PRN to Sanathnagar), 6G, 20P (Rathifile to Nampally) and 44 (YMCA to Parseegutta).

The closest MMTS Train station is at Sitaphalmandi.

Recreation

The main attraction for this area is the Padmarao Nagar Park which is next to the Padmaraonagar bus stop. The park provides fresh and clean air and is well organized with good maintenance. Of late, the 'Gharonda Food Court" has become quite famous with the upwardly mobile generatrion of Padmarao Nagar. Another good eatery which is attracting a lot of young customers is " Coffeez with Bajjiiz" which has become well known for its ambience.
