Orinoco River

Orinoco River Crossing

Orinoco River Crossing is an overhead powerline crossing for 2 220kV-circuits over Orinoco River near Morocure in Venezuela, west of Orinoquia Bridge. It consists of three pylons, from which one is placed on an island in Orinoco river. Each of the pylon is 240 metres tall and equipped with three crossbars for 6 conductors. The pinnacles of the pylons are V-shaped for carrying two ground conductors. According to all available information these pylons are today after the demolition of the OMEGA-tower in Trelew the tallest man-made structures in South America. The width of the both span fields are 2537 and 2161 metres.
