Oradea metropolitan area includes since 2002 the municipality of Oradea and 8 nearby communes: Biharia, Borş, Cetariu, Nojorid, Oşorhei, Paleu, Sânmartin and Sântandrei. The total population of the area was in 2006 of 240,800 of which 70% Romanians and 24% Hungarians.
