Okha, Russia

Okha (Оха́) is a town in Sakhalin Oblast, Russia. Population: 29,000 (2003 est.); 27,963 (2002 Census); 36,104 (1989 Census). It is the center of a petroleum industry (an oil pipeline and gas main Okha–Komsomolsk-on-Amur). The name comes from the local dialect and means 'bad water'.

Okha is a administrative center of Okhinsky District.
