Nicholas Walker is an award winning landscape designer. His partnership in CampionWalker established him as one of America’s most celebrated and innovative leaders in the landscape movement.
Lifestyle designer Kathy Ireland teamed with Nicholas to develop J du J abbreviated for Jardin du Jour Jardin del Dia Garden of the Day a new brand developed to help the everyday gardener bring style to their garden at realistic costs for today’s families, as well as to bring the Outdoors In. Debuting in 2001, J du J was awarded the Gold Medal for design excellence at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show, the nation’s leading horticultural exhibition. Jardin du Jour is also the proud recipient of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.
Nicholas was asked by The Oprah Winfrey Show to “make-over” a backyard family garden. The warm review from Oprah Winfrey and viewers has led to follow up requests. The Discovery Channel’s popular home program The Christopher Lowell Show invited Kathy and Nicholas to contribute to the interior and exterior sets, respectively, for the show. “Whether it’s a flower box or a multi-acre property, everyone should experience a garden everyday. J du J celebrates the idea that everyone can be a successful gardener, and bring the outdoors in through garden inspirations” explains Nicholas.
Nicholas is the outdoor living host of HGTV’s Designing for the Sexes, which explores home renovation projects through the dynamics of gender differences. Due to his extensive international travels, Nicholas offers solutions and brings fresh perspectives to gardens with meticulous focus on structural detail, while celebrating exciting aesthetics. With influence and inspiration from Kathy, Nicholas also shares with his audience the knowledge that you can design your garden with dramatic elements such as water and stone without spending unnecessary dollars.
Nicholas is a featured guest on numerous local Television shows, The Christopher Lowell Show, Home Matters, HGTV’s The Hollywood Gardener, and the popular Discovery Channel series Ground Rules. He is also part of The National Trust for Historic Preservation and HGTV’s Restore America A Salute to Preservation with Kathy, Sharon Stone, Bryant Gumbel and Al Roker to name a few.
