Niall Williams (born 1958) in Ireland) is an Irish writer. He went to University College Dublin where he obtained a Masters degree in American literature. Here he met his wife, Christine Breen, from Katonah, New York. After working as copywriter in New York City, he left America in 1985 to start writing. He has written four plays, six novels and four non-fiction stories from Ireland. He has two children, Deirdre and Joseph
