The 43rd Munich Conference was held from February 9 through February 11, 2007. Its motto was "Globale Krisen - Globale Verantwortung" / "Global Crises - Global Responsibilities". Attendees included the United States Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Czech Republic Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg, and other cabinet-level officials from various countries.
Ministers, members of Parliament, high-ranking representatives of the armed forces, scientists, and representatives of the media were invited to the discussion forum, which focused on foreign and security policy challenges in European and American relations. Each year, some 250 participants from 40 countries discuss in depth their views on the development of transatlantic relations as well as European and global security.
