Mula Sa Puso ("From the Heart" in English) was a
Filipino teleserye or television series. It was
ABS-CBN's most successful soap opera that showcased a grand, powerhouse casting.
Story
Via, the only daughter of Don Fernando, is raised as his darling princess. On her eighteenth birthday she finds out that her father has promised her (hand in marriage) to her childhood friend Michael, and before the birthday party is over, she gets kidnapped. She is rescued by a good samaritan named Gabriel, whom she falls in love with. As the story unfolds, Via ends up having to decide between the two men in her life, while learning more about her mother Magda and fighting off her evil aunt Selina.

Philippines' most watched "Teleserye" in primetime TV from 1997 to 1999. Having an average of 51% rating (national) per week, it was considered as one of the most loved drama stories Filipinos ever watched. ABS-CBN's
Star Cinema even made a self-titled movie out of it.

Trivia
It was the first soap opera that made its protagonist (Via) die in a bus explosion at the middle of the series and resurfacing alive as Ella one week later. Followers thought that the protagonist really died.
The first soap that depicted the issue of homosexuality seriously as depicted in the mother-son relationship of Rafael (Ariel Rivera) and Carmen (Nida Blanca)
One unforgettable scene was when a frantic Magda(Jacklyn Jose)drags the frightened Selina (Princess Punzalan) to the coffin of her daughter Via (Claudine Barretto) in an attempt to make her guilty for killing her.
Kapamilya Channel started re-airing Mula Sa Puso on July 8 , 2008.
