Milan Osterc

Milan "Miki" Osterc (born 4 July, 1975) is a Slovenian football striker. He played for NK Beltinci, NK Gorica and Olimpija Ljubljana, Hércules CF in Spain, Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC in Israel, Le Havre Athletic Club in France, Bursaspor and Malatyaspor in Turkey, AEK Larnaca in Cyprus and LASK Linz in Austria. He played for the Slovenia national football team and was a participant at the Euro 2000 and 2002 FIFA World Cup. On November 10, 2001 he scored an spectacular goal goal against Ukraine, helping to secure his country's first World Cup appearance as an indapendant nation.

UEFA Cup run with Hapoel

Osterc is best known in Israel for his seven goals in Hapoel Tel Aviv's run to the quarter finals of the 2002 UEFA Cup. Crucial strikes against powerhouses Chelsea, Parma, and Lokomotiv Moscow helped Hapoel defy the odds and achieve one of their greatest feats in European football.
