Mike Hugg (born Michael Hugg,
11 August 1942,
Andover, Hampshire) is a professional
musician (
drums,
vocals,
keyboards and
songwriter) and is best known as a founding member of the Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers, which evolved into the 1960s
pop group,
Manfred Mann; and subsequently
The Manfreds in the 1990s.
In the 1970s he wrote the theme tune to the BBC TV comedy series, Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads.
Apart from his role as keyboard player with The Manfreds, who tour the UK and Europe regularly, Hugg is part of the jazz trio, PBD, who are gaining a reputation for their live performances.
