MiG (MiG's self titled album)

Hurt (Self-Titled)

Hurt (Self-Titled) is an independently released album from the band HURT. It was released 6 years before Vol. 1 and 3 years before The Consumation. This album was recorded with a different line-up of performers, except for vocalist J. Loren. This album is extremely rare, with only 800-1200 albums released.

J. Loren (vocals, guitar, bass) and Wil Quaintance (drums) where the only two performers credited for work on this album album. Brian Winshell is credited for engineering, with the exception of "Confession," which was programmed by Jonathan Minis.

The song "Incomplete," which has only been played live, was originally recorded to be put onto the Self-Titled album, however, the song did not make the cut for reasons unknown.

"Unkind" was the only song recorded in a studio at Shenandoah University, using DA-88 digital tape and the SSL 4000 G recording console. Furthermore, "Unkind" was the only song that was ever played on any local radio stations.

The remainder of the album was recorded and arranged in a bedroom/studio in Culpeper, VA with a Roland VS-1680, and Shure KSM32 and SM57 microphones. The guitar was recorded through a Line 6 POD.

The song, "Unkind" is an early version of the song on Vol. 1. The songs, "Better", "Summers Lost", and "Abuse of SID" appear on Vol. 2. The song, "U-bleed" was re-recorded and renamed "UBleed" and appeared on The Blackmarket EP. The recorded version of the song "Yearn", an instrumental, has been played to open some of the bands live performances.

There are no initial plans to re-release this album to the public at this time.
