Ligands

Several selective ligands for the mGlu5 subtype are now available.

Agonists

  • CHPG (2-amino-2-(2-chloro-5-hydroxyphenyl)acetic acid)
  • DFB (1-(3-fluorophenyl)-N-((3-fluorophenyl)methylideneamino)methanimine) - positive allosteric modulator

Antagonists

  • LY-344,545
  • MPEP (2-methyl-6-(2-phenylethynyl)pyridine) - negative allosteric modulator
  • MTEP (3-(2-(2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)ethynyl)pyridine) - negative allosteric modulator, more potent than MPEP
