Metabolic disruptor

A metabolic disruptor is a food or food ingredient that disrupts the body chemistry and puts the system out of homeostasis. Common metabolic disruptors include sugar, white flour, hydrogenated oils, certain chemical additives, some artificial sweeteners, and drugs such as caffeine. Holistic nutritionist Mike Adams was first to use this phrase.
