Marquesado del Valle de Oaxaca

The Marquesado del Valle de Oaxaca was the seignorial estate in New Spain belonging to Hernán Cortés and his descendants. The Marquesado was granted to Cortés by King Charles V on July 6 1529, and continued to be held by his descendants throughout the colonial period, until 1811.
