Malese Jow

Elizabeth Melise "Malese" Jow (born February 18, 1991) is an American actress, singer and song writer. She is of Chinese, Cherokee Indian and European descent. Jow was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is perhaps best known for playing Geena Fabiano on the Nickelodeon show Unfabulous, alongside Emma Roberts.

Career

Acting

Jow became a teen idol at the age of thirteen, starring as the Geena Fabiano in the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous, which debuted in September 2004. The teen sitcom earned Jow several Young Artist Award nominations. The series became one of the network's most-watched programs and was quickly recommissioned for a second and third season.

Malese Jow starred as "Paige Pucker" in a new webisode comedy series co-starring Tadhg Kelly. It can be found at www.soursweetgone.com. The series is tentatively titled "S.P.: Untitled". Set to release in March 2008 the series will use a groundbreaking 'pre pilot' launched on the internet to allow fans to direct the subsequent filming and final endings. The untiled sitcom is a coming of age story about a brother and sister who set out to make it in the LA entertainment scene. The show promises good chemistry between these two actors who have worked together on Nickelodeons television series, Unfabulous.

In 2007, she played her first starring role as well as her first theatrical role, in the theatrical motion picture Bratz as Quinn, the film's primary antagonist.

She also starred as a guest star as Ruby Donohue in the Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly place in the episode, "Movies", and is re-occuring as Hannah on "The Young and the Restless". In the second season of iCarly, she guest stars as Miranda Cosgrove's look-alike in the episode "iLookalike".

Music

She is now launching a music career and has several songs on her MySpace profile. Her music is officially managed by Johnny Wright (www.wegmusic.com) and is under a production deal with PJ Bianco, who helped develop the Jonas Brothers. She has so far posted songs on her Myspace profile: "You Left Me In The Air", "Mista DJ", "Hey Oh", "Go Go", and "Caught Up On You" Malese also has a Youtube account where she has posted video diary entries. Kevin Jonas has written several songs for her including "Where You Belong". She co-wrote all of her songs.

Personal life

Jow is close friends with fellow Nickelodeon stars including Jamie Lynn Spears, Emma Roberts and Tadhg Kelly. She is also close friends with Hannah Montana stars Emily Osment and Miley Cyrus, and the Hollywood Records band Jonas Brothers, who have written several songs for her. She has known the Brothers for several years and has appeared in their first Hollywood Records music video for Kids of the Future.
