Lusitanosaurus

Lusitanosaurus

Lusitanosaurus (meaning "Portuguese lizard") is a genus of basal thyreophoran dinosaur from the Early Jurassic of Portugal. The genus was first described by Lapparent and Zbyszewski in 1957, and is only known from a partial snout with teeth.

The exact location of the find is unknown, which makes a correct dating difficult, but it's probable it belongs to São Pedro de Moel, making it Sinemurian (Early Jurassic).

The type species is L. liasicus.
