She was a student in archaeology when she won the Miss Switzerland pageant in 1982. She went on to represent her country at Miss World 1982 and Miss Universe 1983 pageants. Coincidentally she finished as the 3rd runner-up and was awarded the Miss Photogenic title on both occasions. A polyglot, Lolita Morena has worked with television, not just in her native Switzerland, but also in Italy and Germany. She co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 from Lausanne along with Jacques Deschenaux. Lolita hosted the Swiss national selection for Eurovision in 1991. From 1994 to 1999 she was married to the German football player Lothar Matthäus. They have one child together.
Lolita Morena has continued her work at the French branch of Swiss television and recently starred in the comedy series Les Pique-Meurons.
