- For the town in Syunik province, see Lichk, Syunik.
Lichk (Լիճք, also
Romanized as
Lichk’ and
Lichq; formerly,
Gël and
Gyol) is a town in the
Gegharkunik province of
Armenia. Lichk and Gyol mean "lake" in Armenian and
Turkish, respectively. Although the town was founded in
1830, there are ruins of earlier habitation including remains of a medieval town,
13th century khachkars, and a
cyclopean fort.
