Lamellaria cerebroides is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Velutinidae.
Distribution
This species is
endemic to
New Zealand including the
Auckland Islands.
Habitat
This species lives at depths of between 55 and 75
m.
Description
The shell is much larger than
Lamellaria ophione, more globosely-rotund, with the
spire coiling clearly visible from the
aperture. The animal is 50 to 60
mm in length, the surface much wrinkled, reddish-brown, marbled with yellowish-grey.
The shell height is up to 23 mm, and width is up to 27 mm.
