Koothuparamba is a city and a municipality in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala.

Kuthuparamba is an assembly constitution in Kerala legislative assembly. It is equidistant from the two major cities in Kannur district namely Kannur and Thalassery. Kuthuparamba is the the old city where you can see the buildings and houses built hundreds of years back. Kottayam Malabar and Kinavakkal also an ancient place near to Kuthuparamba and Karetta is the famous for its culture and diversity.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Kuthuparamba had a population of 29,532. Males constitute 47% of the population and females 53%. Kuthuparamba has an average literacy rate of 86%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 87%, and female literacy is 84%. In Kuhuparamba, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
