For other uses, see Kudos (disambiguation).
Kudos (often /ˈkuːdoʊz/), from the Greek κύδος, kydos, (literally "that which is heard of") means "fame" and "renown" resulting from an act or achievement. Extending "kudos" to another individual is often done as a praising remark. It entered English as British university slang in the early 1800s. In Standard English, as in Greek, Kudos is a singular and not a plural noun. However, in common use, one frequently encounters dialects and idiolects in which the noun is plural: She received many kudos ['ku:doʊz] for her work.

The term became more widespread in the mid-1980's when the Kudos Granola Bar was introduced and became extremely popular. Usage expanded again as the term entered the vocabulary of the gaming community. For example, you can earn kudos for completing certain in-game tasks, such as those in the Metropolis Street Racer and in the Project Gotham Racing series. An example of giving one kudos is on myspace.com blog comment section. One can give another none, one, or two kudos for praise of another's blog.

KUDOS

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This Source

KUDOS is a program used in schools for children deciding their career and what qualifications they need to get to that career. It is designed primarily for use in the United Kingdom, and is used by public and government-operated schools and school systems. It is aimed at students ages 13-20 years.

The KUDOS software is available in both CD and online formats. It is one of a range of career resources produced by CASCAiD, a Loughborough University company.

They will answer a set of 50 questions with a set of five answers: Hate, dislike, does not matter, like and like very much.

This will then give the child a list of careers, that match the preferences from the questions. They can then click on these careers and it will enable them to look at the aspects of the career and the qualifications needed for it.
