Ken Bastida is a
California news anchor on
CBS, Channel 5 (
KPIX). He has been a reporter with the station since 1990. Bastida began his career as a Bay Area
radio host in 1978. Since then he has held on air positions at Bay Area radio stations
KFRC,
KGO,
KMEL,
K101,
KFYI and
KCBS radio. For a time Bastida even hosted his own landscaping show on
HGTV. Ken holds a degree in Broadcast Communication Arts from
San Francisco State University...and was inducted into the University's Hall of Fame in May 2008.
Bastida is the recipient of the 2004 Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in "continuing coverage" for his series "Inside the Middle East."
Blunders

broadcast, Bastida reads off an auto cue as he completely misses out a pause to make it sound like his co-host has been murdered and set on fire.
