His column AGENDA, which was launched in Khaleej Times in 2001, and later in Gulf News, was rated as one of the best columns appearing in local newspapers in a number of reader surveys.
He was one of the founder editors of The Observer, considered a watershed in the history of business journalism in India. Before joining Observer, Raveendran worked as Deputy News Editor with Patriot, published from Delhi, and edited by Edatata Narayanan.While in Patriot, he taught journalism at an institute run by the newspaper. He has trained a large number of young journalists. He also worked as a freelance radio newscaster with All India Radio.
