Pančić's Peak

The Pančić's Peak (Панчићев врх, Pančićev vrh, Maja Pançiq) is the highest peak of the Kopaonik range. It is located in Kosovo's most northern tip and on its top is placed a Serbian army base.

The mountain peak was previously named Milan's Peak (Serbian: Миланов врх, Milanov vrh) after the first king of modern Serbia, Milan Obrenović. On 7 July 1951 it was renamed after the Serbian botanist Josif Pančić, who is buried at the top in a small mausoleum damaged during the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia.
