Javi Herrera

Javier Herrera (born October 8, 1981 in Hialeah, Florida) is an American baseball player in the Washington Nationals organization. Herrera was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in , and played Minor League Baseball for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Lake County Captains, Kinston Indians, and Akron Aeros in the Indians organization. A catcher and a non-roster invitee to spring training with the Indians, Herrera throws and bats right-handed. He has yet to make his Major League Baseball debut. Herrera played college baseball at University of Tennessee. In the offseason, Herrera resides in Miami, Florida.

On June 9, 2007, he was traded to the Washington Nationals organization, and began the season with the Harrisburg Senators of the Double-A Eastern League before being called up to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers.
