J-Boog

Jarell Houston (born on August 11, 1985), better know as J-Boog, or Boog, is an American R&B singer and actor. His stage name came from his grandmother calling him "Boogie" because of his love of dancing, and the J simply the initial of his first name. He is a former member of R&B group B2K.

Biography

Early years

Houston was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Compton, California and has been rapping, singing and dancing since the age of eight. He is a cousin of actor/singer Marques Houston.

B2K

Houston was a member of the boy group B2K, along with Omarion, Raz-B and Lil' Fizz.

In You Got Served, the movie which stared B2K, Marques Houston and Young Rome, Houston played the character Rico, the peacemaker of the group. He was originally scripted to play David, Omarion's role in the movie.

Houston was the first one to leave the group when they broke up in the early 2004.

Solo career

In 2004, Houston and Lil' Fizz started their own record label called Fizz and Boog Inc..

Houston is signed to record label Capitalist Entertainment. He is scheduled to release his first solo album, My First Words, in summer of 2008.

Personal life

The couple welcomed their daughter, Anaia Jolie Houston born October 5, 2005, with his girlfriend Jondelle Michelle Lee. They also welcomed their second child on December 14, 2006 a son, Jarell Damonte Houston Jr.
