His first wife was the German princess Agnes (who took the name Liubava upon her marriage), daughter of Conrad III of Germany and his first wife Gertrud von Komburg. She died in 1151. Their children were:
- Mstislav II of Kiev
- Yaroslav II of Kiev
- Yaropolk, Prince of Shumsk
- Eudoxia (-1209), married Senior Prince Mieszko III of Poland.
Iziaslav's second wife was Rusudan, daughter of King Demetre I of Georgia, but they were married for only a few months in 1154 before his death.
