Dr Ivan Png is the Lim Kim San Professor in the School of Business, and Professor of Information Systems and Economics at the National University of Singapore.
Previously, he was a faculty member at the UCLA Anderson School of Management (1985-96) and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (1993-96).
Dr Png attended the Anglo-Chinese School, Singapore
, and graduated with first class honours in economics from the Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge
(1978) and a PhD from the Stanford Graduate School of Business
He is the author of Managerial Economics, which has been translated into Chinese (both traditional characters and simplified characters) and Korean. Managerial Economics is written, "in simple, accessible style, the text-book presents the essentials of managerial economics." The book has been revised twice, with the 3rd edition written with Dale Lehman.The English Edition is published by Blackwell Publishers.
He has written several articles, which have been published in the Business Times
, Straits Times
and the NUS Business Edge

Dr Png is a senior consultant with Economic Analysis Associates LLP, and a co-founder of Thothe Technologies. He is an independent director of Hartford Education Corporation Ltd, Hyflux Water Trust Management Pte Ltd, and Healthway Medical Corporation Ltd. He was a nominated MP
(10th Parliament of Singapore), 2005-06.
Dr Png speaks English and Chinese (Mandarin). He is married and has two sons. His full name is Png Paak Liang Ivan.
