italki is a language learning website, with social networking features. The company is based in Shanghai, China. italki was founded by American and Chinese entrepreneurs.
Features
People can use the site's search feature to find language partners; members will search for people who are native speakers of the language they learning and are wishing to learn the native language of the user. This helps both users as they can gain experience. There is also an answers section where users can post language related questions for other users to answer.. italki has socially built language learning textbooks. italki has the largest wiki for language learning on the web.
Community
The website currently has over 400,000 registered members, from over 100 different countries. The South China Morning Post revealed italki's user traffic:
About 20 per cent of its users are from the mainland and the rest spread across the globe, including 7 per cent from the United States, 4 per cent in India and 2 per cent in France.
