Interoute is a telecom operator providing network services in the European Union and neighbouring nations with transatlantic capacity linked to North American hubs, Dubai and Tunisia. Offering unparalleled homogeneity, reach and capacity, our products and services include bandwidth, virtual private networks, high speed internet access and transit, managed hosting, communications services and media streaming.

Network

Interoute's network is the largest in Europe today, including but not limited to over 54,000 kilometers of fiber optics network in Europe. Products and services include bandwidth, virtual private networks, high speed internet access and transit, managed hosting, communications services and media streaming.

The fibre optic network consists of twelve rings connecting 88 cities in 22 countries across 54,000+ route kilometres of lit fibre and has the capacity to carry a petabit (a billion megabits per second) of traffic. Interoute also built metropolitan area networks (MANs) in 20 major European centres of business with further cities planned.

Ownership

A privately held company, Interoute is owned by a number of internationally based shareholders, the largest and major shareholder being the Sandoz Family Foundation, one of the world's largest private family foundations.

Acquisitions

Interoute acquired PSINet Europe in 2005 and with that acquisition added managed hosting services to its pre-existing portfolio.
