Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism

Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism is a convention which the United Nations is deliberating as of October 2006.

The draft convention was submitted by india in 1996. It intends to deny terrorists, their financiers and supporters access to funds, arms and especially safe havens.

The draft is held up because of differences over the definition of terrorism. OIC wants armed struggles for liberation to be excluded from the definition of terrorism, keeping in mind that the struggles going on in middle east , kashmir , kosovo and chechnya primarily involve islamic population.
