International Grenfell Association

International Grenfell Association, organization established in 1912 to aid the efforts of Sir Wilfred Thomason Grenfell (1865-1940), an English physician and missionary to the people of Labrador, Canada. The association has helped to make possible the building of hospitals, orphanage boarding schools, agricultural stations, and other community enterprises in Canada.
The International Grenfell Association (IGA) is an organization founded by Sir Wilfred Grenfell to provide health care, education, religious services, and rehabilitation and other social activities to the fisherman and costal communities in northern Newfoundland and the coast of Labrador.

The IGA was incorporated in Canada on January 10, 1914, under the Companies Act of 1899.
