Innermost intercostal muscle

The Innermost intercostal muscle is a layer of intercostal muscle beneath the intercostal nerves and internal intercostal muscles.

These are divided into transversus thoracis anteriorly, lateral muscle slips laterally and subcostalis posteriorly.
