Ignacio Berroa

Ignacio Berroa (b. July 8, 1953 in Havana) is an Afro-Cuban jazz drummer. He played in a band for the Cuban military and next performed with Felipe Dulzaides in the early 1970s. In 1980 he moved to New York City and joined with Paquito D'Rivera and then Dizzy Gillespie, from 1980 to 1993. He has also performed with McCoy Tyner and Lou Donaldson.

Berroa plays Bosphorus Cymbals and has his own signature line of cymbals, the Versa Series
