Introduction
Established in 1970,
Himachal Pradesh University is a
public university in
Shimla,
India. The suburban campus in Summerhill hosts 28 teaching departments focusing on, among other subjects, Bhoti (an
Indo-Tibetan language),
ayurveda, and
yoga. Half of the 220,000 students enrolled in the university and its more than 80 affiliated colleges are women.
