Hepburn Wind Project

Hepburn Wind Project

The Hepburn Wind Project is a proposed Australian wind farm which is to be located near Daylesford, north-west of Melbourne. It will include two wind turbines which should produce enough power for 2,300 households.

This will be the first Australian community-owned wind farm. Shares in the Hepburn Wind Project will mainly be offered to the local residents of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. The initiative has emerged because the community felt that the state and federal governments were not doing enough to address climate change.

Community-owned wind farms are common in Denmark and Germany, which have high levels of wind power use.
