Helical Bar plc is a leading British-based property business. It is headquartered in London and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

The Company was formed in 1919 as The Helical Bar and Engineering Co. Ltd in order to produce and sell steel. In 1986 the Company sold its steel business and started to focus on property development. In 2008 a consortium of Helical Bar and Grainger was named as the preferred developer for the King Street regeneration scheme in Hammersmith.

Operations

The Group is organised into two activities:

• Investment and trading
• Development

As at 31 March 2008 its portfolio was valued at £300m.
