. The park is located on a barrier island
between the Atlantic Ocean
and Biscayne Bay
, extending one and a half miles north from the Baker's Haulover Inlet
. It is bordered on the north by the City of Sunny Isles Beach
. The Village of Bal Harbour
is across Baker's Haulover Inlet at the south end of the park. The park has a mile-and-a-half long beach, a marina, six tennis courts, and a nine-hole 27-par golf course. Part of the beach in the Park, commonly known as "Haulover Beach
", is officially designated "clothing-optional".
There is a State of Florida Historical Landmark Marker (over 50 years old) at the original Lighthouse Dock site dedicated on February 21, 2004 to the first charter-boat captains at the 1926-1951 dock. It is the first and only marker in the State of Florida for a fishing dock.
